Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Tether macOS app and the hellotether.app website, published by Jonathan Rhodes. By using Tether you agree to them.

Licence

Tether’s free tier is provided free of charge. Tether Premium is a one-time purchase that grants you a personal licence to use Premium features on up to 3 Macs you own or control, including free updates within the current major version.

Your licence key

Your license key is personal to you. Please don’t share, resell or publish it. We may deactivate keys that are shared publicly or used beyond the permitted number of Macs.

Payments & refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe. If Premium doesn’t work as described, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we’ll sort out a fix or a refund.

Acceptable use

Use Tether only to access servers you are authorised to use. You are responsible for your own data, backups and network security. Don’t expose SMB directly to the internet — use a VPN.

Warranty & liability

Tether is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for data loss or indirect damages. Offline Sync includes safety defaults (deletes off; change-tracked propagation), but you remain responsible for maintaining independent backups of important data.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
